Hanna Alkaf is a Malay name. Most Malays do not use family names or surnames, but tend to follow the structure of (personal name) + (patronymic). Therefore, it is generally not a good idea to refer to me by Alkaf, which is my father’s name.
I understand that many people may not be aware of this convention, and that many media and review outlets have their own style books; however, if your style book does not take patronymics into account, I would suggest that it needs to be reviewed.
